Tilda Foodservice supports Mary’s Meals
Since 2018, Tilda has reached a huge milestone of providing over five hundred thousand school meals!
Mary’s Meals serves nutritious school meals to children living in some of the world’s poorest countries. The promise of a good meal attracts these hungry children into a classroom, giving them the energy to learn and hope for a better future.
Mary’s Meals are already feeding more than 2.4 million children every school day.
The Scotland-based charity is one that we admire immensely and are proud to support. Mary’s Meals began in a shed in Argyll in 2002, feeding a commendable 200 children in Malawi. The charity has since gone from strength to strength now feeding more than two million children every school day in 19 countries around the world. Their vision is that every child receives one daily meal in their place of education, and that all those who have more than they need share with those who lack even the most basic things. It costs just £19.15 to feed a hungry child every day for an entire school year.
Tilda have supported Mary’s Meals since 2018 and have raised an incredible £39,651. For each 5kg bag sold from our wholegrain range, Tilda donates a meal to a child through Mary’s Meals. This includes Tilda Brown & White, Tilda Brown Basmati and Tilda Wholegrain Brown Rice.
