Tilda Foodservice celebrates culinary expertise as Gold sponsors of Zest Quest Asia 2025, a culinary competition which champions the future of Asian cuisine, founded by acclaimed chef Cyrus Todiwala.
Tilda Best Use of Rice
Competing student chef teams of three will be challenged in the art of Asian cuisine, with the task to produce a four course, authentic meal which can be developed to feature a modern twist or presentation style, including:
– Amuse Bouche
– Starter
– Main Course
– Dessert
Chef teams must use their creativity to use any of Tilda’s dry ambient rice range in one of the four courses and must be used in its natural form, as part of the ‘Best use of rice’ category.
If the main course is chosen, Tilda must be the hero on the plate.
The Prize for ‘Best Use of Rice’
This year’s winning chef team will experience an unforgettable Tilda Foodservice rice experience learning all about the fascinating journey of rice, uncovering its origins, discovering where its grown, how its milled, packed and transported around the globe.
The winners will then enjoy an exclusive one-on-one cooking session with the legendary rice master, Cyrus Todiwala, creating culinary masterpieces together. The prize concludes with an evening’s feast of the dishes created.
Join us to celebrate with the finalists of Zest Quest Asia 2025, who earlier that day will have competed to be named winners of this year’s competition at the Gala Dinner and awards evening, accompanied with canapes and a three-course dinner.
Last Year’s Winners
As headline sponsor of 2024, last year’s winners, Sheffield College, embarked on a trip of a lifetime to Delhi, India.
During their stay, they visited Karim’s – the iconic restaurant of Delhi since 1913, to learn more about Asian flavours and techniques, followed by exploring the city itself and discovering Tilda Basmati’s rice production and the sustainable practices farmers are adopting.
The trip concluded with an eye-opening visit to one of the schools supported by Mary’s Meals – a charity Tilda work closely with to help improve the lives of children living in some of the world’s poorest countries; by ensuring they are provided with a school meal in their place of education and in turn, contributing towards positive futures.
