With Tilda Pure Basmati, you’re choosing rice that embodies tradition, quality, and an exceptional dining experience every time.

Colour and appearance

As with all food crops, a percentage of the crop will contain blemished or discoloured grains. High-quality rice has had these imperfections removed, resulting in uniform, white grains. In contrast, lower-grade rice typically contains a higher percentage of such blemished grains. Tilda utilises multiple optical colour sorters to remove these discoloured grains from the rice. This will vary depending on rice type.

Grain shape

All rice types come with their own uniquely shaped grain. The most important check we do at Tilda that separates us from cheaper rice is the removal of broken grains. It’s important to remove these broken grains from the finished product , as they release starch quickly during cooking, resulting in stickier rice.
